Deployment Options Of SAP Web IDE

The deployment options of SAP Web IDE are divided into three categories:

  • Local Deployment
  • Deployment on a Web Server (Public/Private)
  • Deployment on Mobile Devices

Let us discuss these three categories in detail below.

Local Deployment:

It is an installation type that helps us in installing SAP Web IDE on our local system. We are not required to install anything extra or configure anything extra to use this deployment type.

All we need to do is install the application and then start using it. However, there are a few disadvantages of this deployment type as well.

The major disadvantage is that we cannot access our application from multiple locations simultaneously. For example, if we want to access our application from our office and home at the same time.

So we will not be able to access it from both locations simultaneously. It is because every user will be running his/her instance of SAP Web IDE.

In other words, we cannot run multiple instances of SAP Web IDE at the same time on a single computer. That makes this deployment type less preferred when compared with the other two deployment types.

Because these two deployment types allow us to deploy our applications on servers. So that they can be accessed from multiple locations at the same time by different users.

Deployment On A Web Server (Public/Private):

Deployment on a web server is a deployment type that allows us to install SAP Web IDE on any of our web servers. It also allows us to access our application from multiple locations simultaneously

It is because every user will be running his/her instance of SAP Web IDE on his/her server. In other words, we can run multiple instances of SAP Web IDE on the same server at the same time.

That makes this deployment type more preferred when compared with other deployment types. Because those two deployment types allow us to access our applications from multiple locations at the same time by different users.

So it can also come with the benefit of easy application management. Because we can manage the application from one single location.

We don’t have to manage it in multiple locations for different users.

Deployment On Mobile Devices:

It is an installation type that allows us to use SAP Web IDE on any of our mobile devices (like smartphones, tablets, etc). We do not require any special skills or knowledge to implement or manage it.

We just need to install the application on our mobile devices. Then start using it as we would use any other normal mobile application.
