Then use the TELNET /L option with the TELNET.NTS program. When you are configuring the client-server links through a telephone line.

So the communication between your client-server and your SAP system is done through a modem. The settings of other client servers like WMS are also configured through Telnet. 

Telnet is used to configure the communication channels required for the other client servers linked to your SAP system. After configuring these channels, you can run your transactions on these systems. 

These systems will store and send data to your SAP system. To read data from an external source, you need to configure communication channels between these systems and your SAP system. 

You can use the same Telnet console for this purpose as well. After you have successfully configured all required channels, you can run your transactions on these client servers without any difficulty. 

These Telnet consoles should be closed after all required communication channels are successfully configured.

Disadvantages

The disadvantage of using Telnet is that you cannot configure communication channels for all systems using this console. It is a very old method used for configuring the communication channels for a client-server or server.
