There are lots of SAP Fiori deployment targets. So we will discuss with you the following information about these Fiori deployment targets.
What Are SAP Fiori Deployment Targets?
SAP Fiori has many deployment targets. As you know, SAP Fiori has two types of versions. These two versions are Development and Production.
Development Version:
This version is also known as a prototype. Also, this version is not used in business activities.
Therefore, we don’t want to use it in our business activities. In this version, we are testing the SAP Fiori applications before using them in business activities.
Production Version:
This version is also known as a live production version. We use this version in our business activities. For example, we have a customer portal in SAP Fiori.
So we can use it in live production whereas we cannot use a prototype version of the SAP Fiori customer portal in live production. In other words, our customers can easily access SAP Fiori prototypes.
But they cannot access live production versions of SAP Fiori applications. It is because there are technical differences between the development and production versions of SAP Fiori applications.
SAP Fiori Deployment Targets For Development Version:
Now let us explain the development target options for the SAP Fiori application development version.
We have the following options for this target:
1. WebAS 7.0
2. WebAS 7.5
3. SAP NetWeaver 7.5 SP05 or higher
4. SAP NetWeaver 7.5 SP08 or higher (if you want to use SSO)
5. SAP NetWeaver 7.5 SP09 or higher (if you want to use SSO and OAuth 2)
So if you are working on the SAP Fiori application development version. Then use one of the above-mentioned options as a development target option for your SAP Fiori application development version.
If you want to develop a new application. Then use any of the above-mentioned options as a development target option for your SAP Fiori application development version.
For example, if your development team is using WebAS 7.0 as a development target option for the SAP Fiori application development version. Then it will work in your live production environment.
It is because we are using the same target option for our live production version of SAP Fiori applications. So we will configure our live production environment to match with the development environment.
That we are using for our SAP Fiori application development version. So it will not be a problem at all because we are only using one of the 5 options as a development target option.
So all of them will work in our live production environment as well. It is because they are not different from each other and they will work the same way in both environments (development and production).
SAP Fiori Deployment Targets For Production Version:
Now let us explain the target options for SAP Fiori applications. Now if you are using the live production version of the SAP Fiori application development version.
Then use one of the above-mentioned options as a target option for your live production version of SAP Fiori applications. In other words, if your business users are using a live production version of the SAP Fiori application development version.
Then they can access all live production versions of SAP Fiori applications with the same user interface. And also feel of your business users’ end users’ end users’ version.
So that they are using in their development version of your SAP Fiori application development version. It is because we have used the same target option for our live production version of your SAP Fiori application development version.
So it will not be a problem at all because we are only using one of the 5 options as a deployment target option.
